Specific Learning Difficulties

Specific Learning Difficulties [SpLDs] affect the way information is learned and processed.

They are neurological:  resulting from damage to the brain, spinal column or nerves, caused by illness or injury, rather than psychological.

They can have significant impact on education and learning and on the acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills.

SpLD covers a range of difficulties such as:

  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia / DCD
  • Dyscalculia
  • A.D.D / A.D.H.D.

Specific Learning Difficulties may also coexist with conditions on the autistic spectrum.
