A group of our students have taken part in an exciting, four-day ARC programme (Action, Reaction, Consequence) delivered by Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service at Kettering Fire Station. The programme is an early intervention and employability initiative, designed to provide students with valuable experiences, develop essential life skills and help prepare them for future opportunities.
The programme has provided a fantastic range of activities, challenges and opportunities, giving students the chance to step outside their comfort zones, learn new skills and experience situations they may not usually encounter.
From learning about fire, water and road safety to developing interview skills, tackling the smoke house and taking part in virtual reality (VR) scenarios, there has been plenty to get involved in!
Throughout the programme, it has been fantastic to see students grow in confidence and resilience, challenge themselves and support one another. Along the way, they have been developing valuable life skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making.
Experiences like these provide invaluable opportunities for our students to build confidence, discover their capabilities and develop skills that will support them both now and in the future.
A huge thank you to the team at Kettering Fire Station and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service for sharing their knowledge and expertise, creating such realistic and engaging activities, and providing our students with such a valuable and memorable experience.
