This school is challenging in all the right ways. It demands creativity, resilience, and heart. Every day, I’m surrounded by colleagues who are deeply committed to making a difference, and students who constantly surprise me with their courage, curiosity, and drive.
What makes this place incredible isn’t just the high expectations—it’s the unwavering belief that every child deserves the very best. That belief is contagious. It’s what pulled me in, and it’s what keeps me here.
I never imagined myself in education, but now I can’t imagine being anywhere else. The work is hard, yes—but it’s meaningful. It’s real.Sophia
Why work for us? For me, it’s simple. This is a professional place where, if I ever have a problem, there are always people to see and support me. It feels like being part of a big family.
Our students are positive, and as a positive person myself, I love being around people who bring that same energy. Leadership are present come rain or shine, and they are always available to walk alongside us.
As both a member of staff and a parent, I’ve had fantastic personal experiences here with both of my boys – 100%. One attended before my employment and the other after I was appointed, and both experiences have been excellent.
I really value the way staff across the trust acknowledge me. Everyone is friendly and approachable – I know I can just give someone a call, and the response is always perfect and brilliant.
The culture of safeguarding and health and safety is a priority here, and that’s important not just to the school, but to me as an employee too. I also like that there are opportunities to develop in my role.
I can honestly say, I am 100% happy at work.John
I came to Isebrook in 2022 as a lunchtime supervisor and knew this was where I wanted to be. I had been working for about 2 days when I asked how to become a TA. I was given training straight away within a year 7/8 class. I absolutely loved it! I am now a level 3 TA. I also do breakfast and after-school club. At Isebrook we have a mini-farm with a few animals. I come and help in the holidays with their care. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else, I feel like part of a family here. The staff are wonderful, supportive and caring. I have leaned, and still continue to learn, so much.

I first joined Isebrook in January 2014, initially as a Teaching Assistant. In this role, I gained skills and knowledge to support students with a range of SEND. This then inspired me to further my career and become a teacher. I was given the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, which further developed my desire to pursue a career as a teacher. It was not long after that I was offered an unqualified teaching post, and the opportunity to be supported to gain my Degree in Teaching and Learning. While continuing to advance my professional development at Isebrook, I completed a placement in a mainstream school to gain additional experience. I successfully gained my QTS through the Assessment Only Route in 2021.
Since gaining my QTS I have had the opportunity to develop my leadership skills through obtaining a TLR for SMSC which involved leading on whole-school initiatives. This led to the school achieving an SMSC Gold Award. Following this, I successfully completed my NPQTL and secured a role as a Key Stage Leader in 2024 where I am further enhancing my leadership skills.
Throughout my career, leadership at Isebrook have been exceptionally supportive, attentive and understanding. In my experience, there have been excellent CPD opportunities for staff to progress within their careers. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to excel with my career in an exceptional school, where I have observed students and staff thrive and not only achieve but also discover their full potential.Sadie
Joining Isebrook has been such a positive experience. From day one, I felt so welcomed by everyone. The staff are genuinely lovely, supportive, and always happy to help. The leadership team set high expectations, but also truly understand the importance of work–life balance for our mental health and wellbeing. That balance makes such a difference, and it allows us to give our very best to the students while still feeling valued and supported ourselves. The atmosphere across the school is calm, nurturing, and focused entirely on the needs of the students. It is truly a child-led environment, where every decision is centred around their development and wellbeing. The curriculum is designed to help students thrive, not only academically but also personally and socially. Being part of a team that is so passionate and dedicated makes working here feel incredibly rewarding – it’s a privilege to be a part of such an amazing school!

The working environment at Isebrook is amazing. As someone that has recently joined the school, it is really striking and worthy to be mentioned and celebrated. Very high staff morale and a strong work ethic make this place a unique experience for children and adults. Whenever I enter the school, I can immediately feel the positive Isebrook vibes, unlimited kindness and team spirit! I have been supported, listened to and looked after by literally everyone here, no matter the level of their responsibilities. It gives me the sense of belonging and makes me feel safe. All the staff and students are a real credit to the school!
