Absence Notification
Reporting Absence Due to Illness
If your child is unwell, please contact the school office before 9:00am on each day of their absence. You can leave a message on the school’s answerphone.
If we have not received notification of your child’s absence, the school will attempt to contact you to determine the reason. The absence will then be recorded using the appropriate attendance code.
If we are unable to make contact and no reason is provided, a member of staff may carry out a welfare check at your home.
Medical Appointments
If your child needs to miss school for an unavoidable medical appointment, please inform the school office in advance. We may request evidence of the appointment to support the absence. While we understand this is not always possible, we kindly ask that appointments are scheduled outside of school hours whenever feasible.
Term-Time Holidays
Holidays during term time cannot be authorised. However, in exceptional circumstances, absence requests will be considered at the school’s discretion (form attached).
