Year 8 Enjoy Memorable Residential Trip to Govilon
Fifteen Year 8 students recently took part in an exciting four-day, three-night residential visit to Govilon Activity Centre in Wales, creating lasting memories while developing confidence, independence and teamwork.
The trip was packed with a wide range of activities, giving students the opportunity to try new experiences and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. One of the highlights was river gorge walking, where students explored the natural landscape, worked together, and showed great resilience and enthusiasm throughout.
Students also enjoyed a fascinating visit to Dan Yr Ogof Caves, where they explored the impressive underground formations and learnt more about the natural history of the area.
There was also time for some well-earned treats, including a visit to what many described as the best ice cream shop in Wales, as well as a fun-filled bowling night which brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition.
The standout highlight of the trip was a full day at the beach. Students made the most of the seaside setting—playing in the sea, flying kites and trying their hand at crabbing. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to relax, have fun and enjoy time together outdoors.
Throughout the residential, students demonstrated excellent behaviour, teamwork and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones. The experience has helped to build confidence, independence and strong friendships.
A huge well done to all students who took part and made the trip such a success.
