The principal aim of religious education at Isebrook School is to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live.
This enables our students to gain the knowledge, understanding, and skills needed to handle questions raised by religion and belief, reflecting on their own ideas, ways of living, and worldviews.

Our two-year rolling programme curriculum includes learning about the major world religions and non-religious worldviews, such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Judaism and Humanism. This broad coverage helps students develop respect, empathy and understanding for different faiths and cultures. This structured approach allows for consolidation, revisiting and deepening of understanding at a pace suited to our students.
We recognise that Religious Education is an important part of developing students’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural understanding. We believe that all students should have the opportunity to explore beliefs, values and traditions in ways that are meaningful and accessible to them.
We adapt learning to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our approach is highly practical and sensory, using objects, music, storytelling, role-play, movement and multisensory experiences to bring learning to life. This enables every student, regardless of ability, to engage with the key themes of RE at their own level.
We also invite visitors from a range of faith communities to share their beliefs, experiences and traditions, giving our students first-hand opportunities to meet people of different faiths and ask questions in a safe and respectful environment.
Through our RE curriculum we aim to:
Our sensory and inclusive approach reflects our school’s core values of Respect, Compassion, Responsibility and Achievement.
