Student Voice
At Isebrook School, student voice is extremely important to us. We value what our students have to say and actively encourage them to be involved in decisions that affect their school life.
Student House Captains
Student House Captains represent their House across all key stages and provisions. They:
- Organise inter-house games and activities
- Lead House meetings
- Represent their House and bring forward ideas
- Share student feedback directly with staff
- Support events and theme days
Each year, students submit a short testimony to be considered for the roles of Captain or Vice-Captain. Being a House Captain provides an opportunity to make a real difference in school life.
How Students Influence School Life
Students at Isebrook have a real impact on decisions affecting the whole school. Through the Student Council, wellbeing surveys, and recruitment panels, students are actively involved in shaping school life.
Recent Student Voice achievements include:
- Site Safety: Identifying areas for improvement to keep everyone safe
- Safe Spaces: Highlighting safe and unsafe areas and suggesting changes
- Sports Day: Planning inclusive, fun-filled events for all students
- Clubs & Activities: Recommending new lunchtime and after-school clubs
- Supervision: Ensuring sufficient staff presence at key times
- Events & Fundraisers: Organising school-wide activities
- Curriculum Feedback: Providing ideas to improve lessons and subject options
- Rewards & House Points: Supporting the design of the reward shop and point system
Listening to students is central to Isebrook’s ethos. We are proud to be part of the Rights Respecting Schools initiative, which ensures every student’s voice, opinion, and wellbeing are valued and celebrated.
Isebrook Arts Council
The Student Arts Council is a team of creative, passionate students who work to promote and celebrate the arts across our school.
They organise and support a variety of events throughout the year — from Children in Need fundraising days and remembrance commemorations to art exhibitions, performances, and themed creative competitions.
Our goal is to bring everyone together through artistic expression, showcase student talent, and make the arts a vibrant and meaningful part of school life.
Isebrook Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors help make Isebrook a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for everyone. They have been trained through The Diana Award and are a committed team.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Leading surveys and workshops
- Promoting awareness of our core values
- Supporting students across the school
All Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are elected.
